United Nations ranked Zambia as one of the shining troop contributing countries

We must be proud as a Country that the United Nations (#UN) has ranked Zambia as one of the shining troop contributing countries to peace-keeping missions in Africa and other parts of the world ravaged by war and conflicts.

This follows the combined contribution of 1,011 #Zambia military, police and staff officers to different UN peacekeeping missions which include United Nations Multi-dimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic, also called MINUSCA and United Nations – African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

United Nations’ recognition of our service and sacrifice should make each one of us proud that we remain true to our place in the global village of nations as the Oasis of peace.

The United Nations Peace-keeping has since thanked Zambia naming it as one of the shining examples of countries that have greatly sacrificed and contributed to peace-keeping operations in Africa and other parts of the world where peace and stability have remained elusive.

Let us all join hands in commending our men and women in uniform for their discipline and dedication to duty. Without doubt these have demonstrated commitment to maintain or restore world peace and security. They share a common purpose to protect the most vulnerable and provide support to countries in transition from conflict to peace.

I therefore urge every citizen to protect our peace, promote and preach love. I have said before and will say it here again – no politician, not even myself as President is worth shedding blood for. With campaigns here with us, no citizen should incite or involve themselves in violent acts. We all have a collective duty to protect and preserve our peace even as we play a significant role in maintaining world peace.

God bless Zambia. ????????
