Zambia’s 2026 Budget Projects 6.4% Economic Growth

Finance Minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane presented the 2026 National Budget to Parliament, outlining a K253.1 billion spending plan. The budget aims to:
– Grow the economy by 6.4%, driven by mining, agriculture, manufacturing, and ICT.
– Reduce inflation to 6-8%.
– Narrow the fiscal deficit to 2.1% of GDP.
– Raise K206.5 billion in domestic revenue and K12.1 billion in grants.
– Limit borrowing to 3.7% of GDP.
The budget’s theme is “Consolidating Economic and Social Gains Towards a Prosperous, Resilient and Equitable Zambia.”
